Houston wins WVIAC honor
Kara Houston, a junior forward for Wheeling Jesuit University and a Trinity High School graduate, was named the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer player of the week. Houston scored two goals and had an assist in the Cardinals' 5-4 overtime victory against Shippensburg in the season opener. Houston scored the game-winning goal in the fifth minute of the overtime period.
Houston was the Cardinals' leading scorer last season with 12 goals and 27 points in 18 matches. She was a second team all-conference selection.
